False Advertising

this is something that does intrest me im going in to Buisness administration and might just get into Marketing now these half truth commercials really make me mad. I don't understand how these advertising firms can get away with such lies. They take a fact paraphrase it and use it to there advantage however if they didnt paraphrase it who knows there product would probably look bad. Advertising does not have enough restrictions on it otherwise false advertisment cases would be more common and more successful. however as the reading showed some advertisments dont stretch the truth such as the volvo they have great commercials about saftey I was actually suprised about the ad campaign with kelloggs that it would be considered a drug if it was proven and took it off the shelves overall i found this reading to be informative and intresting i knew they always chopped up the truth to make it look good for thier product and this really helped me showed how bad it can be

Mythbusters2

Last night i watched Mythbusters again and this episode answered a question that has been on my mind for a long time simply it's why dont you just open the door if you drive into the water i thought it was so easy to do however it's not when you drive into the water and begin sinking the pressure just 2 feet underwater is so strong its almost impossible to open the door until the pressure equalizes wen the water totally fills up inside the car and equals the pressure outside the door wont budge similiar is that to the window you cant even budge the window because it has almost 300 pounds of pressure pushing on it from the outside (thats just 2 feet under) now they did try many other ways for example opening the door right away worked or opening the door by the time water got to window but the most intresting was he waited until the pressure equalized and just stayed calm not using any energy and taking deep breaths when the pressure equalized he was able to open the door and swim back up 13 ft. so they proved that u cant open the door under water until pressure equalizes the second myth they busted was you cant fold a piece of paper more than 7 times doing it by halfs and at first they couldnt do it with normal 8.5 by 11 office paper do to something called exponential growth wen u fold it 7 times the paper becomes 128 layers thick making it to thick to fold once they used thinner tracing paper they were able to bust the myth and fold it over 12 times by the way my other favioret show top chef just had its 1st of a 2 part finale and they eliminated probably the best chef named sam and kept the guy who everone hates i think that it was wrong and hopefully that guy loses to ilan the other finalist

Mythbusters

One of my favored shows I watch now is called mythbusters they take a myth or tall tale and try to find if there is any truth to that myth or not this week they had a special on pirate myths one myth was about the eye patch that it’s not just used for a gouged eye but for night vision purposes its said that having your rods the (part of your eye that helps pick up dim light) ready that you would be able to see in the dark much better than trying to walk through the dark after just getting out of a lit room this myth actually proved to be true with a few test taken place they successfully proved that a person could see better in the dark if they were the eye patch. Another myth they tried to solve was did more people die from the shrapnel when a cannon ball hit the side of the boat or did they die from the ball itself the idea is that the wood splintered and acted as a projectile and stabbed into the pirates and ended up killing them. After many test it concluded that the wood could not go fast and dangerous enough to kill stab someone. I’m interested in physics and love math this show takes these everyday myths and puts them to tests usually having to do with a lot of physics involvement I fell in love with this show instantly and invite you to watch it on Wednesdays at 9 when the new episode first airs.

Week2

After reading this weeks assignment i found it very intresting how carefully companies and advertising agencies analyze the target market and tailor the Advertisment to that specific groups wants and needs sometimes being successful and sometimes failing another thing i found intresting was choice of wording in terms of how a company goes about saying how there product works there not to specific yet not to broad with there word choices that can make even the most suspicious person think that ad had alot of truth to it. Wednesdays text was very intresting and got me thinking about many other companies that advertise the discussion in class concentrated on medicine alot however i found that cleaning angents have that new and improved or kills 99.9% and many other catch lines to get a person to by there product the reading for friday was intresting as well including the idea of a graphic novel sense of reading showing many pictures to help understand the text. Art is a important part of my life i actually have a sister that goes to art school and is studying to be an art teacher. but besides that i have the intrest of music as an art ofcourse this art is rap i do not enjoy the NEWER rap but more of the old school 2pac EAzy-E and other various artist from the 90's art is all around us there is no doubting that it's just identifying it in one slide u see a man screaming thats not art reffering to an abstract painting on a wall and to him maybe it's not but to me art is in the eye of the person looking at it some may think its not but some do
