Mythbusters
So the Mythbusters decided to put one of the most long debated physics questions to rest this week. The myth was when a bunch of birds are in a semi truck and they begin to fly around does the truck lighter because there not standing on the surface of the truck. So the Adam and Jamie brought a couple of birds and put them in a container as a trial experiment and to see if when the bird flapped around there was any difference in weight. The test proved that there is no difference however they moved up to larger scale experiments using a group of about 20 pigeons in a u-haul container with atmospheric pressure finders and a scale. When the birds began to fly around you could see that even though they were not sitting on any surface they force of the bird flapping its wing went from actual wait to air pressure because it forced the air downward. Meanwhile Tori, Grant, and Kari wanted to see if a boat moving at 25 miles per hour can be split down the middle by hitting a channel marker. It was reported in newspapers however results showed that a boat traveling that slow could not be cut in half by traveling only 25 m.p.h. This is important because we can actually see that some reporters don't go into full depth about the stories they write.

Mythbusters
Wednesday a new episode of mythbusters was on, this episode was about hypnosis and if you can blow out a candle using frequencies. A man back in the early 1900's claimed he could blow out a candle with the sound of his bird calls. The idea was that the waves with a low frequency will vibrate the air creating enough pressure to put the candle out. When trying this they couldn't do it they just couldn't get the frequency low enough and strong enough so they amplified it with a speaker and brought in a singer would could get it a little lower. They had done it successfully. Then the second myth was whether you can get someone to do something against there will when on hypnosis they successfully got Grant under hypnosis but he didn't follow those commands. Adam and Jamie wanted to join in on the myth so they tested whether you could remember more details about an event when under hypnosis then you could when not under hypnosis. They had to small time actors come in and play a scene with Jamie (Tori, Grant, and Kary were not aware of the joke) Jamie and the actor(posing as a delivery man) getting into an argument. After the scene they told them of the actors and gave them a test to see what they could remember all of them failed, then when under hypnosis they were able to remember key things from the scene. The Hypnosis myths are very important to society after testing the myth about can you remember things this could be applicable to real life such as crime solving. If there was a witness who saw something but there memory was fuzzy they could be put under hypnosis to describe more about the crime so I think thats really cool.

Mythbusters
Everyone has heard the old saying, Can you teach and old dog new tricks, right? Well the mythbusters decided to check this myth out. They got two, age nine, huskies (A very difficult dog to train) and Adam and Jamie each took one dog and a real dog trainer and worked for one week to train them to do five tricks sitting, heeling, staying, lying down, and shaking hands. Turns out you could teach old dogs new tricks. Meanwhile Grant, Kari, and Tory wanted to see if you can beat a guard dog. They set up fencing and put a safe in the middle of the fenced in area and they tested five different ways to keep the dog from attacking the first way was distracting it with a steak, it distracted the german shepard for a minute or two but once it turned around and saw the intruder it attacked. Next up acting submissive, and the third was acting aggressive both tested negative. The scent of wolf urine that made the dog hesitate for a second but then attacked. Using the urine of a female dog in heat it was put on a cloth and dragged outside of the fencing by the teamates the guard dog couldn't keep its mind off of it even after looking directly at the intruder so that was confirmed. The final dog myth can you out smart a bloodhound they tested zig-zagging, running through water, covering them and the floor with pepper, cleaning and changing clothes, covering in cologne or coffee, and running in an urban enviorment, those dogs are extremley smart and couldn't get fooled no matter how hard they tried each myth was busted. This show is so interesting it's entertaining and it's educational some episodes are more closley impacted on someones life than others. I say that because some do have alot to do with saftey and everyday things people do so it's kinda cool that well known myths that people say are being tested.

Paper!!
I have one week to have my paper proposal done yet I still don't know what to write about. My problem is I don't watch these movies that was the first zombie/horror film I have ever seen in my life and to write a paper about something I know nothing about is very difficult. I don't really want to write about race, religion, gender, or social class because I believe that's going to be redundant. So now I thought about writing about real zombies from the voodoo religion I understand it is suppose to be a research paper my problem is I don't know a thesis I could write for this I have been looking up information for this specific subject. Well it's finally over I gave up fast food for Lent which is extremely difficult and I already know what I'm doing next year Pepsi. My weekend is gonna be boring I worked today and I work tomorrow then I go to my uncles house to enjoy Easter with my whole family. After reading this I hope anyone can assist me in an idea for a thesis for my paper this paper is going to be difficult for me like the last essay and considering I need to get an A on it to keep a B in the class I can use the assistance. In all honesty I don't understand how if I lose a total of 200 points in the class my grade is reduced to a B 2099 out of 2300 is a B just doesn't make sense to me.
